Kendall Smith, a 38 year Veteran High School Football Official spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson at the club's August 22 meeting. With his seniority, Smith is now a clock operator and sits in the press box during the game. He regaled the club members with highlight stories of his time on the field with stories of notable high school football coaches for whom he has officiated games. His tenure has been with the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) which has working class and country club schools. He identified the country club schools as schools like Jackson Preparatory School, Jackson Academy, and Madison-Ridgeland Academy. He left it to the listeners to determine the working-class MAIS schools. Smith is shown in the following photo; from the left Rotarian Don Roberts, Smith, and Club President Matt Monsour. We thank him for his very interesting and entertaining presentation.
