On Tuesday, January 7, 2014, Archeologist Sam Brooks spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson about Early Mississippi History. He pointed out his opinion that the earliest inhabitants of North America were from Europe and that they predated the migration of the Asian people through the Pacific Northwest. He also pointed out that the earliest Hopewell Culture mounds were built in Mississippi, prior to those in Ohio and Illinois. Mr. Brooks is pictured here during his talk.
