New Rotary Year
July starts a new Rotary year. This year's theme chosen by Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick is "The Magic of Rotary".
Prayer
As with Americans everywhere we commemorate the hard-won independence which marks our nation, we are humbly grateful for patriots of the past who made freedom a reality for us. We are grateful for opportunities we have as Rotarians to help restore and preserve the traditional values which characterized our nation's early history. Along with gratitude for the profound blessing of freedom, we give thanks for the mundane gifts of life, including food and fellowship by which we are nourished and enriched. Amen.

Proposed New Member
McKinley Wilson “Mac” Deaver has been proposed for membership in the Rotary Club of North Jackson by Jon Turner and is sponsored for membership by Past President Paul Howell. Mac, a native of Purvis, Mississippi, has lived in the Jackson metro area for the past 43 years. At the time of his retirement, he was President of the Mississippi Bankers Association, where he had 34 years of service. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and later attended the University of Mississippi Law School earning his Juris Doctorate. He lives in Ridgeland with his wife, Susan. Mac has two adult children. He will be loaned the classification, Association Executive, after his membership is approved by the Board. This is the 1st publication of this proposed new member.
Changing of the Guard
The Rotary Club of North Jackson held its annual Changing of the Guard Ceremony on June 28, 2024. Outgoing Club President Matt Monsour presented the gavel to Incoming Club President Lori Greer. The club's 2024-2025 officers are Vice President Neelam Goel, Secretary Suzi Tubb and Treasurer Bill Osbourn. Club Directors are Stanley Simpson, service; Bruce Deer, club administration; Caroline Kemp, membership; James Clay, foundation and Greg Campbell, public image.
