Rotary Blood Donation Day
Mississippi Blood Services is having a Rotary Blood Drive Day on tomorrow Tuesday, July 9th. The drive will be at the locations listed below. Clubs receives $5 for each donation.
Prayer
Father of all mercies, on this summer day we gather here to not only break bread together, and to enjoy social interaction. Help us to use both our affluence and our influence in corporate structures, in advance the principles and causes we espouse as Rotarians. Accept our thanks for our manifold blessings, for food, fellowship for commonality of effort. Grant to each of us the personal peace derived from faith and courage drawn from commitment to truth. Amen.

Proposed New Member
Brian Tremaine Crawford has been proposed for membership in the Rotary Club of North Jackson by Past President Bob Ridgway and is sponsored for membership by Past President Don Roberts. Brian recently was named President of Mission Mississippi, a Jackson-based organization focused on Christian Reconciliation and Racial Healing. Brian’s family moved to Vicksburg at the age of three and he lived there until he attended Mississippi State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. In 2001, he began a 14- year career as a federal civilian for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District. He held a number of positions with increasing responsibility. In 2015, he moved to U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center where in 2021 he was selected as Chief of Cybersecurity Engineering and Analysis where he managed a team of more than 160 cybersecurity professionals. Also, in 2016 Brian planted City Light Church, an intentional multiethnic church in downtown Vicksburg. He is a licensed and ordained Gospel Minister and serves there as Lead Pastor. He continues to live in Vicksburg with his wife Candi and their two sons, Brian, Jr, and Elijah. He will be loaned the classification, Nonprofit Executive, after his membership is approved by the Board. This is the 2nd publication of this proposed new member.
July 2nd Meeting
24 Mandela Washington Follows visited the Rotary Club of North Jackson during its July 2, 2024, meeting. The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is a program conducted by the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Jackson State University was selected to conduct one 10 Leadership in Business Institutes as part of the program. Shown in the photos below are the Fellows and Club Executive Secretary/Treasurer Don Roberts presented a club banner to Rotarian Sarah Funmilayo Kuponiyi from Nigeria.
