August 31st Meeting
Major Timothy Delaney, Commander of the Salvation Army in Jackson, will be our guest speaker during our August 31, 2023, club meeting. Major Delaney started his tenure in Jackson on June 19, 2023, after serving in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Major Delaney has served the Salvation Army for 18 years. Also, during our meeting, we will honor the JPD Precinct 4 Officer of the Quarter.

Eternal God, whose existence we acknowledge whose continued blessings we seek and on whom we depend in faith, we invoke your blessings upon us in this gathering today. We have come from a variety of places and task, to share in fellowship and in renewal of our commitment to the Rotarian ideals and standards to which we have pledged ourselves and substance. Accept now our gratitude for food, for table fellowship, and for all blessings from your beneficent hand. Amen.
Last Week's Meeting
Kendall Smith, a Brandon resident, and 38-year veteran high school football official, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson during its August 22, 2023, meeting. Smith gave club members some timely humorous and insightful stories from his 38 years of wearing a striped shirt. He has published a book, “Confessions of a High School Zebra.” Kendall estimates that he has officiated over 1,000 games of both junior high and high school weekly.
