Club Announcements:

5th Tuesday Day of Service
Our club will have its 5th Tuesday Day of Service on Tuesday, July 29th at The Mississippi Food Network from noon until 1p.m. Please wear comfortable clothes since you will be in their warehouse without air conditioning. You will be packing food boxes. Lunch will not be provided, and we will not have our regular meeting that day. MFN is located at 440 W. Beatty Street, Jackson MS 39201.
Prayer
Gracious God, in the midst of these summer days we are grateful that your love and grace are not seasonal but continuous. Though we may complain of heat from summer sun, help us to remember its benefits in our natural world. May our gathering here today re-energize us for these opportunities. Bless our food and fellowship, not just for our own personal needs but for strength to serve others. We are grateful for the privilege of so doing. Amen.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship
The Mandela Washington Fellowship visited the Rotary Club of North Jackson for its July 8th meeting. Members of the fellowship spent the meeting time fellowshipping with club members and introducing themselves. The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Established in 2014, the Fellowship has brought nearly 7,200 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa to the United States for academic and leadership training. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished innovators and leaders in their communities and countries. Locally, it is a program of JSU and directed by our club member Sharon Simmons. Shown in photos below are the Mandela Washington Fellowship members and the MWF members with members of our club. Here is the link to the meeting video.
