Almighty God, as we pause in prayer at the outset of this meeting, help us to realize the significance of these brief moments as a preface to our time together. Use our private and corporate involvement and our Rotarian experience to bring truth, fairness, good will and beneficence to our community, culture and world. Rotary's official motto dates back to 1911, when it was adopted at the second Rotary convention in Portland, Oregon. Over time, it evolved into the current version approved by Rotary's Council on Legislation, reflecting the philosophy of unselfish volunteer service. Today, we end each Club meeting with this motto:
