Club Announcements:
January 2nd Speaker
Chris Blount, our own club member, will be our guest speaker for the January 2nd meeting. Chris is Executive Director of the Wilson Research Foundation, the fundraising arm of The Methodist Rehabilitation Center. Chris will give us an update on the Methodist Rehab operations.
January 9th Club Meeting
We will not have our regular noon meeting on January 9th due to the Rickhouse being booked for a Governor Reeve's event. We will have a volunteer opportunity at The Good Samaritan Center at noon. A box lunch will be provided. There will be a sign-up sheet at our Jan. 2nd meeting. You can also let Greg Campbell know @ gregcampbell2@comcast.net. The Good Samaritan Center is located @ 114 Millsaps Ave., Jackson, MS 39202.
Rotary RYLA
Our club is looking to sponsor a club member's child, grandchild or friend that is a sophomore - senior, to the Rotary RYLA. The Rotary Youth Leaders Assembly will be held Feb. 22-24 at Twin Lakes Camp near Florence. The students arrive Thursday night and finish Saturday afternoon. Please let Matt or Don know if you have a student interested.
2024-2025 Board Elections
If you are interested in serving on the club's Board of Directors for the 24-25 Rotary year, please let Past President Larry Anderson know. We will be holding elections the first of the year.
Prayer
Almighty and eternal God, at the outset of this new year, we are grateful that you are not beholden to the changing seasons and rapidly turning calendar. And now, having gathered in pursuit of our purposes as Rotarians, guide us as we seek to be faithful in our calling to serve others above ourselves. Bless our food and fellowship that we may be strengthened in body and enriched in spirit. We pray with grateful anticipation of your continued favor. Amen.
