Prayer
Gracious God, as we enter and reflect upon the final month of the year, we give thanks for having been escorted providentially by your Spirit through times of turmoil and of triumph. Even in times unrealized by us you have been our Guardian, our Source of comfort and strength, our everlasting Hope. We give thanks for the food we take so much for granted, and for the gift of fellowship which lifts our spirits. Amen.

November 26th Meeting
Cecile Wardlaw, with the Greenwood Cemetary Historical Society, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson during their November 26, 2024, meeting. Wardlaw informed club members about the oldest cemetery in Jackson. Greenwood Cemetery located in downtown, is still in use. It was established by a federal land grant on November 21, 1821. It was originally known simply as "The Graveyard" and later as "City Cemetery" before the present name was adopted in 1899. It is the final resting place of Confederate generals, former governors of Miss. and mayors of Jackson. Swan Yerger, our club's founding President, was recently buried there.
