Eternal God, we bow humbly before you in acknowledgment of your goodness to us in so many ways. We are awed by the mystery of your Being, by all that is supernatural and spiritual. But we are impressed, as well, by your relevant presence revealed to us in the course of daily life. When we are tempted to rely on our own knowledge, ability and wisdom, prod us to trust the sufficiency of your grace and the credibility of your promises. We thank you for the food prepared for us, for the fellowship we anticipate around these tables, and for the awareness of our continual blessings. Amen.
Last Week's Meeting
Major Timothy Delaney, Commander of the Salvation Army in Jackson, spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson during its August 29, 2023, meeting. Major Delaney, who became the Commander in Jackson in June of 2023, informed club members about the mission and services of the Salvation Army. Also, during the meeting, JPD Corporal Lashay Brown-Thomas was honored as the Precinct 4 Officer of the Quarter. Corporal Brown-Thomas received the award for her exemplary conduct and performance of the duties as an officer of the JPD. Corporal Brown-Thomas' actions led to the arrest of a person reasonable for the thief of an Enterprise rental car.
